Exiles and Emigrants: Epic Journeys to Australia in… door The Curators
The National Gallery of Victoria's 'Exiles and Emigrants' exhibition of 2006 is one of my favourite art exhibitions, and the catalogue offers some interesting context to the paintings as well as some fascinating insights into one of the major trends of world history in the 1800s. It whetted my appetite to read further on this subject.
½Published in conjuction with the exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, this softcover 146-page full colour book features text by curator Patricia Tryon MacDonald, with contributions by Tim Barringer, Tim Bonyhady, Susan P Casteras, Elizabeth Gertsakis Martin Terry, Angus Trumble and Christopher Wood.
