This has everything I like. It's a character-driven story, with a focus on customs and manners of a certain class. It's not quite a manners novel, though, because there are secrets and scandals, too, not just descriptions of stylish, wealthy motherhood. There's also a commentary about class and power, but you can enjoy the gossipy drama at the same time.

2.5 stars, I feel like I can't give it a full 3 but it doesn't quite deserve a 2. I wish goodreads would give a spot for. 5 stars.

This is a slow character driven book. I started off really disliking it, but grew to appreciate it.

Part of the issue for me is I was expecting something different. This is why I am trying not to read the book jackets anymore.

I would have liked to have dived deeper into Jed's character, I feel like there was something missing there.

If this could be considered a 'beach read', it would be a complex one. I thought it's rather smart. Upper class women hanging around a school for 'pick up' has become cliche.

Tales of the rich folks living on the Upper East Side of NYC, told in the viewpoints of many different people, even a 7-year-old girl. Virtually all of these people are unlikable, and I found myself not really caring what happened to them - and if it was something bad? Oh well, boo hoo.
