Written in the second person and translated from the French (?) original, this was very hard going. Perhaps for the dedicated student of Rembrandt this could bring new insights but if your interest is only passing then this is not the place to start.

Historical Fiction--A vivid book depicting the great painter's life somewhat accurately. The reader gets a sense of who he was and how he dealt with the great "plagues" of that time.
