This nonfiction book is a good way to introduce children to the myth of the kraken as it evolved through the centuries. With pictures and illustrations, the various depictions of the legendary kraken is finally pictured for what it is: a giant squid. The author traces its history with facts that kids can easily understand. She lists places in literature and movies in which krakens are mentioned or featured. Also included is a glossary as well as a bibliography and websites for further information. This is a great book with which to spark a kid’s interest in the underwater world.… (meer)
