Korte biografie
A story, probably apochryphal, is told of McMinn, giving a pre-examination revision lecture on the courses of the cranial nerves, a bete-noir for non-anatomically inclined medical students, changing, without any comment, the colour of his blackboard chalk for just one of the twelve nerves. The fortunate listeners found a question on that nerve in the exam paper.

If true, the tale shows that the Professor wanted to reward attendance as well as recognising that few doctors (and fewer of their patients) are ever inconvenienced by a lack of detailed knowledge of cranial nerve anatomy.

The object of this book is to provide an account of body structure and function for those who are entering the health care professions. The first part of the book summarizes the tissues and the various body systems, and this is followed by adding further details on a regional basis.

This is a beautiful little volume on human anatomy that is indeed concise. It's not too complex but goes into great depth for a book that's not as voluminous as many longer anatomy books. I assume they are 'plastinates'? Those fantastic photographs combined with beautiful illustrations and a text that's detailed but written in an accessible way make for a great little book. It's well worth the investment for anyone interested in human anatomy, student or not.… (meer)

This is a great visual guide to accompany and anatomy or physiology book. The body is separated by region and then fully illustarted and labeled with skeltons, cadavers, and xray images. Highly recommended for any student of the human body.
