This is the good stuff: a comprehensive, well-researched look at all aspects of biotechnology and medicine from aspirin to nanotech. It provides plenty of useful examples to demonstrate the mechanics. There's a good bibliography in back. There are a few slip-ups on the biology (like the details of owl hearing and the side effects of having a tapetum), and googling the supplemental information requires two steps so you can look up the name of the scientific term and then find it in use, but overall it's quite good.… (meer)
