The scope is spot on for upper elementary, and the photos are great.
We've had this checked out from the library for a long, long time (checkout periods have been extended because of the pandemic). So we've had time to do a lot of these tricks and most of them have been great! My daughter's 1st grade class was especially impressed with the soda can jumping out of the mug. We never mastered the coins on a bottle one, though. Overall, this has provided hours and hours of educational entertainment over many months.
With large, clear photos and illustrations, young readers discover the bacteria, viruses, and other germs and microbes that keep our bodies and our world running, as well as how and when they can be harmful and the precautions we can take to prevent them from becoming so.

Helen Arney e Steve Mould, assieme a Matt Parker che però in quanto matematico non ha partecipato alla stesura di questo libro, formano il gruppo di science standup comedian "Festival of the Spoken Nerd". In questo libro parlano (più o meno...) di esperimenti scientifici visti in stile appunto da show. Alcuni di questi esperimenti sono in effetti replicabili in casa, altri direi proprio di no. Personalmente trovo più divertente lo stile "ha ha only serious" di xkcd, ma anche qui ho trovato punti che mi hanno fatto sorridere.… (meer)
