Poor Myron. He doesn't like his name. He's going into third grade and hasn't lost a tooth yet. And now he has to spend his summer away from his beloved mother. Luckily, what starts as the worst vacation ever, eventually turns into the best vacation ever.

This is a sweet story for shy, sensitive types. The title made me think it would be funny, but it's actually entirely earnest.

This book explains the loss of his mom and the perspective of what he's going through. He's worried he'll forget everything about his mom and has a lot of emotions about it. This lets children know it's okay to express their feelings especially when dealing with a death.

As one expects, this vacation turns out to be better than Ronnie expects, though with some highs and lows and highjinks.… (meer)

This is a good book to explain the loss of someone through the eyes of a child. Although a heavy topic, the child will be able to feel the pain that the main character goes through
