This book explains the loss of his mom and the perspective of what he's going through. He's worried he'll forget everything about his mom and has a lot of emotions about it. This lets children know it's okay to express their feelings especially when dealing with a death.

Ronnie is stuck going on vacation with his grandparents and cousins without his mom for the first time. Fortunately, his older brother isn't there; unfortunately, the older cousins who hang out with his brother and hassle him are. There's definitely a (much less jerkish) Wimpy Kid vibe to this older-kid picture book, divided into the days of the vacation and Ronnie's abortive attempts to write a letter to his mom. This is a good book to explain the loss of someone through the eyes of a child. Although a heavy topic, the child will be able to feel the pain that the main character goes through

This is a sweet story for shy, sensitive types. The title made me think it would be funny, but it's actually entirely earnest.
