Andrea returns to eastern Canada. This time to Louisbourg, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Like the previous two books in the series Andrea has some adventures during her summer and learns some surprising family history.

I found the start of this book dragged a little compared to the previous two but it picked up in the middle and end.

I liked this book every more then the first of the series [The Girl From Away]. The book does have a reasonable amount of French in it and I do not speak any but as it was all in conversation and many of the characters could only speak either French of English I felt like the occasional confusion was part of the story and much of it I could follow from words around it. The Girl from Away tells the story of Andrea who spends Christmas in Anderson Arm, Newfoundland with her extended family while her mother and mother's new husband holiday in Florida.

What is great about the book is that it highlights the language and cultural differences from a small town in Newfoundland as Andrea, from Toronto, is learning about them.
