This book is a biography of the life of Stephen Hawking. The book describes Stephen Hawking’s early life, college career, and diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease (ALS). This book describes how Mr. Hawking was given 2 years to live by doctors. Prior to his disease Mr. Hawking did not study very hard but once realizing his time was limited he began to study feverishly. He married, had kids, and became a “rock star” in the field of astrophysics despite the debilitating effects of ALS. This book describes how Mr. Hawking slowly lost his ability to walk and then talk. However, Mr. Hawking’s disability did not slow him down from being a television star, experiencing weightlessness on an airplane, and becoming internationally known for his theories about black holes, event horizons and the “Big Bang” theory.
