This is not a book that I will remember, although the premise is interesting, and the first half held my interest. Two professional women married to successful men, unknown to each other, are in controlling, abusive marriages. Their husbands have made it impossible for them to continue their careers, so they are eventually on what amounts to house arrest with every move tracked on their husbands’ phones. What subsequently happens is justice with favors returned by two strangers.

Natalie and Tyler have recently moved into a new house and are now parents of a newborn, Oliver. Natalie is really struggling adjusting to being a mom and perceives that Tyler is not helping out as much as he should. She's not getting sleep because Oliver won't fall asleep unless she's holding him. They don't know anyone on their street until one day when Natalie meets Paul while out walking with Oliver.

Natalie starts forgetting things - Oliver's doctor's appointment, important work matters and she feels confused all the time. Paul makes Natalie feel better, telling her she's not losing her mind. Paul is married to Erin and he stays at home with their daughter.

One day, Erin is missing and Natalie finds herself being investigated for Erin's disappearance. She had nothing to do with it...or did she? She can't remember.

Overall, a good story. I really liked the author's other book The Favor and will check out more from her.

Leah and McKenna have never met. Leah sees McKenna in a liquor store one afternoon and is so intrigued because they look alike that she follows her home, realizing that they live near each other. She watches as McKenna is having wine with some friends and relaxing and then noticeably tenses when her husband arrives home. Leah senses that they not only look alike but are victims of controlling, abuse husbands. She knows the signs. She rushes home to her own husband and her life but can't shake the similarities between herself and McKenna, even though she doesn't know her name. Where there is a murder in the neighborhood, Detective Harrison is called in to investigate. He has little to go one until there is another murder under similar circumstances. Are these murders tied to these two couples or not?… (meer)

A thriller and more. Natalie is a successful lawyer who gives birth to a colicky baby and sees her life disintegrate. That in itself was a painfully realistic depiction, but then add in a manipulative neighbor and a murder and it takes the book to a whole new level. Unexpected and unpredictable. A good book. The afterward is well worth reading.
