He has written articles for dozens of publications, including the "Wall Street Journal", "Washington Post", "Christian Science Monitor", & "Roll Call" & has appeared on various shows on the History Channel, CNN, toon meer NBC, ABC, & NPR. He lives in the Washington, DC metro area. Author was education adviser to JPS government. He wrote in 1894, but this version was revised up through 1920. Useful as an overview of Japanese history before the hostility of WWII written by a man with unusual access to the Jps government in the Meiji era.
