i read each entry immediately after watching the movie and was disappointed to see so many factual errors, big and small. i think the author must have read scripts rather than watching the movies? i don’t have any other way to explain it. all that said, the analysis was pretty good. some reaching here and there but not too much. now to rank all the movies over on letterboxd!

For fans of the Coen Brothers movies, a very nice description and analysis of all of their movies up through 2016 and even mentions the Ballad of Buster Scruggs -- a 2018 release on Amazon. The book points out all of the links between the films and the homages to classic films.

i liked this book, but I also liked the movie.
And it didn't really matter to me that it won a ton of razzies. I thought it was an entertaining movie that showed the difficult and often seedy life of showgirls.
So the book didn't change my mind about the movie, but it gave me an interesting new perspective and included many thoughtful and thought-provoking insights
