If you are looking for a quick read with intensity that has a paranormal twist and lots of sexual tension, then The Call from Within could be the one for you. In this story, a werewolf finds his mate but he has to be careful letting her know. He could scare her away, but another one who wants to claim her pushes his timetable up. Now he has to practically take her away to save her and to show her she belongs to him. Time is not on his side.

I have to say that this is an extremely fast-paced novella. For me it was almost too fast. I think it could have really been expanded and become a much meatier novel, but I think the author meant for it to be exactly the way it came out. Then she succeeded. It left me wanting more and had me thinking about it long after I had finished reading it.

The characters are done in a manner that has you very curious about them. There is not much development of them as the book is so short, but there is enough development to see their potential and have you asking questions.

The storyline itself is very familiar to many others but the author gives it a little bit different twist. There are werewolves and shapeshifters. The good guys of the bunch might surprise you. Both want the girl who has her own secrets she is totally unaware of us. They will fight for her to the death. The one mate for life is highly prominent. What gives this story its unique flair is the fact that there are many other elements existing that have yet to be fully developed and explored which could happen in subsequent books.

This book is heavy with the sexual tones and references though the actual acts are not that many and not explicitly described. This is more of a heavily toned book.

I have to say that I enjoyed the read. When I want to know more and think about the story after I’ve read it, then it is a book I’ll follow up on.
