Leon Pantenburg is the author of SurvivalCommonSense.com, a bushcrafting and wilderness survival blog and website. During his four decades as a journalist, Pantenburg has seen his share of floods, forest fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, mudslides, and other natural disasters. His backpacking experience covers Yellowstone's back-country, the John Muir Trail in California, and the Pacific Crest Trail as well as a six-month, 2,552-mile solo Mississippi River canoe trip.
