Helen Plotz

Helen Plotz is not a scholar but a popular "anthologist" and I think this is one of her best, but maybe I'm biased because I love ballads and the title chosen for the book - a balladlike poem by W. H. Auden - one of my top 10 favorite poems.

This is a poem about Night and how it is good but how it is bad because when it starts getting dark its time to go in. THis was a poem that caught my attention because after reading it you think back to when you was a kid and how you would be playing outside and as soon as it gets dark you have to go in. This poem could be used when you are teaching about morning and night.
