I liked this but didn't love it! Had a few edit errors/typos. I am going to continue to read the series because it was ok,.just hoping the editing is slightly better.

The drama with the ex did make this a little less fluffy and a bit more angsty.

I liked this but honestly wouldn't rave over it. It had a few continuity errors which bugged me and it just seemed a very busy book. Lots happening but it didn't always make sense or feel necessary. I am glad that Winston got his HEA

It's my own fault really. I thought this was an harlequin story. One I read many years ago. I don't really know why I thought that because... the cover *facepalm*.

But this story was... bad. Really, really really bad. Every trope that comes with the unexpected baby trope was done so bad. Not sexy at all (even though the main characters say that the other one is sexy on every goddamn page).

When I read the following:
“Well, then there is nothing else for me to say,” Christen told him. “So get the hell out. I’m tired and I have shit to do tomorrow,” Christen said as he started putting his groceries away.

“Marry me?” He heard Jaxson ask.

What the fuck?

“What the fuck?” he asked surprised, dropping his freshly bought eggs on the floor. “Are you out of your fucking mind? If you haven’t noticed, we do not live in the 1800’s, where the man has to marry the woman he knocked up in order to spare them the shame.”

“No, I am absolutely sane,” Jaxson told him calmly. “You are having my child and doing the job I do, I see too many kids thrown away or grow up without their dad in their lives. And I promised myself if I ever had children they would never grow up in a one-parent home. I had both my parents around until my mother died.“ Jaxson’s voice was getting louder with every word he said and Christen was not sure he even realized it. “Don’t test me on this Christen, you will lose.”

I knew I would not enjoy this. But as somebody who enjoys watching things crash and burn (ramptoerist) I could not stop reading.

Then I read this (after a lot more doucheness from both characters):
A loud noise alerted Christen that someone was in his house. Frightened, he tiptoed into his room and grabbed the bat sitting by the side of his bed, then slowly crept down the hall and stopped at the top of the stairs leading to the kitchen and listened to see if he heard the noise again.

“Fuck!” Christen brows furrowed. Jaxson. What the hell? How did he get in my house? With the bat still in his hand, Christen walked down the stairs to confront his intruder.

Christen tiptoed down the stairs and was shocked to see Jax standing in front of the stove flipping pancakes, scrambled eggs, and Canadian bacon. That had Christen wondering why he hadn’t smelled all of that before.

“Um…what the hell are doing here?” He asked Jaxson.

“What does it look like,” Jaxson asked rhetorically, with his back still turned as he flipped another pancake. “For a doctor you really ask dumb ass questions.”

*Sigh*. Get. The. Fuck. Out.

Christen scowled at Jaxson’s back and looked at the table that was set for two, with coffee, and something that looked like tea and orange juice. When did he do all of this, wait how did he get in here? “How did you get in here?”

“I picked the lock,” he answered nonchalantly.

“I should call the cops and have you arrested.”

Jaxson turned around with a plate stacked with pancakes and Christen’s stomach growled loudly. “Go ahead,” he motioned, placing the pancakes on the table. “I’m sure they will be happy to arrest me, considering I work for the other side and pissed a couple of them off by taking over their investigations.” He turned back to the stove getting the bacon and eggs. God, everything smells so good.

THAT IS NOT SEXY! That's called stalking and abuse of power with a light sprinkling of intimidation.

That was it. I was done.

Look I'm a big fan of what I call 'bookporn'. Quick, easy, smutty reads. A little bit of angst and I'm a happy camper. I don't really mind crappy spelling and or grammar. I'm a fast reader and most of the time I don't even notice mistakes others would catch.

But this story was Bad.

As if the author thought that the actions would be sexy without actually visualising if it would be sexy in real life. And even if it would be creepy in real life, you can't just have the characters think 'oh but he is so sexy so that's okay.'

NO, A BAD TOUCH IS A BAD TOUCH.

Unless you asked for it beforehand. Or if the characters know each other for some time. Such a cliche but consent is actually sexy.

But this...
