Graham Rhys-Jones

Graham Rhys-Jones was a career officer in the Royal Navy. An aviation and antisubmarine specialist, he served in the Fleet Air Arm and in surface ships and commanded a frigate, HMS Leander, at a time when it was still fashionable to chase Russians. He held two staff appointments in Whitehall. As toon meer much theorist as practitioner, he was an early military M. Phil. and, towards the end of his time in the Navy, spent two years at the US Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, teaching strategy and operations to senior US and international courses. He later went back as a SECNAV Research Fellow. He lives in Dorset and works as a defence consultant, writing and lecturing on maritime topics as time allows. toon minder
