Karrie lives in Australia’s sunshine state with her husband and two sons, though she hates the sun with a passion. She dreams of one day living in the wettest and coldest habitable place she can find. She has been writing stories in her head for years but has finally managed to pull the words out of her head and share them with others. She spends her days trying to type her stories on the computer without disturbing her beloved cat Lu curled up on the keyboard. She probably reads far too much.

I really enjoyed this take on a costar relationship. Ryan is new to Hollywood, but jumps quickly into the limelight when he gets a role on a popular TV show. He is costarring opposite Lucas-the "straight, married" actor. There is immediate chemistry between them, and it shows even on camera. When the guys finally get to realizing that they have feelings for each other, things get a little crazy when stalkers come into play.

I thought the story was really intriguing and well written. I loved the flow of the story, and I really loved that despite all of the obstacles thrown in their way, Ryan and Lucas never wavered in their support and love for the other. The stalker story line was interesting and remained a mystery for quite some time. I thought it was well thought out. The only thing I wish we had a little more of was family interaction for Lucas. His family was pretty aloof throughout the book, and when the did come into the picture, it was glossed over a little.

I loved Lucas' wife/best friend Anna, and I would LOVE to read her love story.

This was an awesome follow up to Shipped (book 1). We met Ethan and Ben as part of Lucas and Ryan's security team, and Ben got seriously hurt at the end. There was a reveal of information about Ethan's past which made him fear the reaction of Ben (whom he was having some feelings for) and he ran.

This starts off pretty much right where the last book ended--with Ethan running. A couple of weeks later, he gets a call from his sister who needs help, and Ben happens to be around for this. The two guys reconnect and Ben (who has been in love with Ethan for years) jumps to help Ethan. Ethan isn't able to hide from his feelings anymore and decides that he doesn't want to.

These two connect again early in the book and there isn't a lot of angst in the relationship. There is mystery and action and things that keep you on your toes, but as far as Ethan and Ben go, they are real solid as a pair. They communicate, they interact, and they are open. It was beautiful.

This books was so well written, just like Shipped before it. I loved the story, the characters, and the writing. I am very much looking forward to book 3. The story of Ben and Ethan getting together was finished in this book, but more action is coming down the road with a cliffhanger to get you excited for the next set of characters. Bravo all around.

An emotional, convoluted mystery! Didn’t see the twist coming and I loved it!

Noah is living on the streets when he is attacked and beaten. He ends up in the hospital and meets up with Harry. Harry is a reporter who is attempting to write an article about people who are street-involved that will highlight the dangers and possibilities for change. They part after a short meeting but then Harry is contacted when Noah is attacked again.

First Noah is beaten, then he’s shot. There’s definitely more going on than someone simply having an issue with a guy living on the streets. The two men form a quick friendship and begin looking into Noah’s past.

The characters are well-rounded. Noah and Harry are very different from one another and I enjoyed that.

Noah is a young man with a complicated history. On his own from a young age, he was taken into foster care. He has a very no-nonsense way of looking at his past: he survived it and nothing was too terrible once he was in foster care. Living with dyslexia has derailed Noah a little, but he’s determined and independent. If there’s one thing that becomes clear very quickly, it’s that Noah doesn’t like being a burden to anyone. I felt as though his character was pretty authentic although he did trust Harry very quickly. I found that a little hard to believe. Living on the streets is pretty tough and one of the first rules is not trusting anyone without a very good reason.

Harry comes from money but is obviously a man who likes to work. He’s principled and falls into the role of wanting to protect Noah very quickly. It’s a natural place for this character, he’s very compassionate. I enjoyed the characterization of a journalist who wanted to really make a change in the world or even make the world a better place for just one person.

At its core, this story is a mystery wrapped up in a lovely gay romance. Noah and Harry are forging an emotional bond with one another as they travel across the world to try and find any clues they can about Noah’s family. I’m not going to give away the plot twist because I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was believable and I love that in a good mystery! I was truly surprised at the end… and I thank the author for that! What an adventure!

I began this story this morning and couldn’t stop reading it. It seemed a simple premise at first, but I found the writing completely engaging and I loved the characters.

When Drusus was a young man he left everything he knew behind him for a life in the Roman Legion. He’s Centurian when his younger brother, Cal arrives as a new recruit. Cal is with his best friend, Caius. Drusus is immediately drawn to Caius but keeps his distance. He already knows that he will find it difficult to watch his younger brother fight… he doesn’t want to lose his heart to someone only to be constantly worried about him in battle.

Caius proves himself to be a formidable soldier… he can definitely take care of himself. Drusus’ defenses, however, weaken and he finds himself getting involved with Caius.

I can’t speak to the authenticity of the writing about the Roman Legion… I haven’t read enough history to have an opinion. It was certainly authentic enough for me to get caught up in the time and not question it. The battle scenes were pretty horrifying and there was a real sense of desperation at some points. I had a lot of sympathy for the characters and their plight. I can’t imagine living in a society in which I had to commit years of my life to an army without having a choice.

The relationship between Caius and Drusus is quite lovely in spite of the difficulties they are facing. Their dream of living on a farm together and growing old… is a lovely one. There are many times during the noel that their future is uncertain and I really felt for them. A lovely story that I would gladly recommend.
