When Dahlia Weathersby’s sister sends an emergency “help” text, Dahlia drops everything and heads to the Colorado Rockies to find her. She hires survival expert Winston Dane, after lots of pleading, to help her track down her sister. Dahlia is not a nature girl. Sure it’s pretty, but bears and camping out are not her style. At all. But it’s her sister, so Dahlia will do whatever is necessary to find her. If she and Winston need to share a sleeping bag in the crazy cold weather, well, she’ll just struggle through.

Lots of snow and small town uniqueness for city girl Dahlia. She impresses Winston with her enthusiasm and dedication as well as the rest of the small town. So much snow. As a city person myself, I just shudder to even think about camping out there and traipsing through.
Winston is grumpy and no match for Dahlia and they have a lot of humorous moments together.
It’s a delightful romcom with the two, of course, falling for each other even though their lives are so different. Perhaps that’s just what they needed.
A fun little escape with an unlikely pairing that turns into just what they needed. Adorable.… (meer)

This was an excellent romantic comedy City girl and makeover artist Dahlia Weathersby comes to the depth of the Colorado Rockies when she gets an SOS text from her half-sister and best friend Rose. She is definitely a fish out of water, but a very fashionable one.

She dragoons local recluse Winston Dane into going with her to help her rescue her sister. Luckily, besides being the hot local hermit, he is a survival expert. While initially grumpy adn taciturn, he is quick to agree to take Dahlia on her quest to locate her sister. As the two hike into the Rockies, they begin to fall in love through blizzards, bear sightings, and all the way to a meth lab where Rose is being kept prisoner.

I enjoyed Dahlia's effervescent personality and optimistic attitude which she is using to cover up just how worried she is about the only person in her family that she loves. It is nicely contrasted with Winston's more quiet and dour personality which seems to be a cover for his shyness.

Fans of humorous romances will enjoy getting to meet these two intriguing characters.… (meer)

This romantic suspense title begins a new series. It stars the relationship between Molly Pax and John Carmondy. They are rival bounty hunters. At least, Molly sees them as rivals. John is more interested in keeping Molly out of trouble since he has had a crush on her since he first saw her chasing a skip through a food court.

Molly is the oldest of five sisters who are all bounty hunters. Living with a mother who has no respect for the law and who has been arrested and even jailed numerous times, introduced her daughters to this career. Molly is the oldest and has been taking care of her sisters since she was a pre-teen.

This time their mother has gone too far. Besides steeling Molly's car, she has been accused of stealing a million-dollar necklace. After her arrest, she arranges her bail through a sleazy bail bond's man who takes the deed to their house as collateral - the house that Molly and her sisters paid for. In order to save their house, they have to find their mother and make sure she makes her court date.

Molly is also forced to work for the bail bond's man to find a fugitive she doesn't want to chase in order to keep him from getting the court date moved up so that he can claim their house. The skip is very dangerous; he favors explosives to help him get away when being caught is imminent. John is right there with Molly as they hunt for this fugitive.

Molly gradually accepts that she is in love with John through the course of the story which made for a satisfying romance. However, large parts of the plot concerning catching their fugitive mother and saving their house were left unresolved. Hopefully, resolution will come in future books in this series.… (meer)

Christmas Spice - Anna Leigh Keaton- 3 Stars - Victoria “Vicky”, Detective Drake - I needed a heads up about this. The scene was hot but the consent issue made it less so for me.

A Perfect Fit - Lacy Danes - Stars - Who??? - I didn’t care for the POV in this story. It made me uncomfortable putting myself in a character so I DNF’d

The Best Santa Ever - Katie Allen - 3 Stars - Alexander “Xan” Brooks, Melanie - What a steamy romp through the north pole. *wink wink*

Stroking Midnight - Raine Weaver - Stars - Calvary “Callie” Marsh, Josh - I haven’t been motivated to pick this up in two days so I am DNF-ing.

Ghost of Christmas Second Chance - Amy Ruttan - 3 Stars - Melora, Henry, Ghost of Christmas Past - A literal second chance romance. Melora, after living her life alone, has been given the chance, by the Ghost of Christmas Past, to go back and not only fix her relationship with Henry but save his life. It’s a little cheesy and everything happens very quickly but I liked it.

Holiday Traditions - Christine D’Abo - Stars - Ardara Raion, Grayson - This is not the fault of this story. I’m just not feeling reading sex for sex sake and that is how this whole book has felt. I know these are intended to be quickies and there is a time and place for that but it’s not here and now for me.
