With five large, and a multitude of small, pop-ups (not to mention lots of pull tabs), this book is action-packed. It's also packed with information about the spiders, eagles, tigers, crocodiles and polar bears that are its subjects.

The pop-us are really wonderful! A spider dangles from its web, an eagle descends through clouds to catch a luckless fish. Smaller pop-ups show the difference between alligators and crocodiles, or the den of a pregnant polar bear. I'd have given the book 5 stars, except that I did not care for the fact that the tiger pop-up doesn't actually pop-up, but requires one to insert tabs in slots.

Excellent as the pop-ups are, I don't see any "revolutionary technology". The techniques used, while well-done and used to good effect, I've seen in many other pop-up books.… (meer)
