Ella Scrymsour (1888–1962)

If I'm being honest, I don't know if I would have picked up this book in a book store. That being said, I would have been missing out on something! These stories were incredible! I know they technically aren't period pieces because they were written in the 1920's, but I still love period pieces.

So, she's a psychic detective, but not psychic in that she can predict the future, but psychic in that she can see ghosts and stuff like that. People hire her to help stop hauntings and it is entertaining! These stories are a lot like Sherlock Holmes, except a female detective. There aren't a lot of recurring characters except Stavoradale Hartland, who has to be one of my favorite characters! He is so understanding and caring I love it!

I laughed out loud a few times and really enjoyed that each story was only about a 20 minute read, which helped me to finish it, as I could read a story in a sitting. These are fun reads and worth the time. In fact, I wish there were more to read! I can honestly give this a 5/5 star review with no hesitation.
