Well-intentioned but rather dull fictionalised case history. Before the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2000, the English law could be exceptionally cruel to gay teenagers who got caught up in it, and this is really a campaigning book written to illustrate the unfairness of this. The author unfortunately doesn't quite have the talent to make the book work as a novel: he might have done better to stick to a straightforward non-fiction account.
