Robert Glenn Sherrill (December 24, 1924 - August 19, 2014) was an American investigative journalist and longtime contributor to The Nation, Texas Observer, and many other magazines. Sherrill was born in Frogtown, Georgia and attended the University of Texas. He became a reporter for the Miami toon meer Herald, the Texas Observer and the Washington Post. He authored many books on politics and society including a biography about Hubert Humphrey (The Drugstore Liberal) in 1968. He also wrote Military Justice Is To Justice as Military Music Is To Music (1970), The Saturday Night Special (1973), The Last Kennedy (1976) and The Oil Follies of 1970-1980: How the Petroleum Industry Stole the Show (And Much More Besides) (1983). His biography of Lyndon Johnson (The Accidental President) was on the New York Times best sellers list. He also wrote Gothic Politics in the Deep South, and the textbook Why They Call it Politics: A Guide to America's Government. Sherrill was a resident of Washington, D.C., and he later moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where he died on August 19, 2014. (Bowker Author Biography) toon minder

A lively piece of Journalism about the small cheap handgun. There's a short essay about whether it should be replaced by more expensive better-made weapons. Useful for reference but there's little doubt the USA will continue to be over-gunned.
