Christina Skye is the pen name for Roberta Helmer. As Christina Skye, she has written over 23 bestselling USA Today and Publishers Weekly romance novels. Her romance books have been translated into eight languages. Roberta Helmer was born in Dayton, Ohio. She attended the University of Pennsylvania toon meer and earned a doctorate in classical Chinese literature at Ohio State University, where she learned to speak fluent Chinese, French, and Japanese. This book bumped up pretty hard against my willing suspension of disbelief bone. Still it was fast moving and readable.
I don't think I can rate this, because I don't typically read romance but I am trying to read 5 books outside of my usual genres this year. The main character is a chef and all the female characters knit, so I figured at least there will be something to keep me interested? Anyway, as far as romances go this one was fine. I can certainly see the appeal of the genre.

Four stars. At times the story moved slowly, and I was confounded that Maggie's hair changed colors, but overall the magic and passion carried me through. I will be reading another in the series.
