The Doom of Reconstruction: The Liberal Republicans… door Andrew Slap
This is a revised dissertation. There is some interesting content. I found this book to be repetitive. I don't necessarily know all the arguments that Andrew Slap is trying to counter. I am interested in how&why the freed slaves got left behind, and this provides a part of that picture, but this book is not easy to read because of the academic style (not jargon).
