Toward a New Order of Sea Power: American Naval… door Harold H. & Margaret Sprout
A description of the processes leading to the Washington Treaty and the US Navy of the 1920's.. The prose is uninspiring, but the complexities of the situation are well revealed. Many readers about naval construction and budgets seem driven by simple jingoism. That is usually counter productive for those seeking knowledge, and this book is a useful corrective for indulging such fallacies.
A basic review of the process of creating an American Navy. Not inspiring, in my opinion. There have been several livelier books written on this topic since. The original book was published in 1939.
