A warm and edifying memoir by two extraordinary women. To bibliophiles, persons who love to read, and those who enjoy seeing women triumph in a male-dominated milieu, I cannot recommend highly enough this book. (And the books they handled, my god the books!)

entertaining extrapolation from the hints and passing references in the Holmes stories and novels of books ithat certainly were ore most probably were in Sherlock's library, Stern is on half of the famous dealers, Rosenberg and Stern, who wrote many memoirs on bookselling and were recognized as authorities on earlier histories, natural histories and plate books which Stern has reference here. All in great fun, as is said.
