I was awake early this morning so finished up A Conventional Murder by Pam Stucky, the second in her Megan Montaigne series. A travel writers' convention comes to town and murder ensues, with the local haunted old hospital the ideal location. Megan gets involved even as her relationship with the town police officer, Max, grows more friendly. A classic cozy mystery with the added element of the Pacific Northwest as a setting. Megan is the library director but doesn't seem to do much library work as she is so busy detecting. It's a classic, well-written cozy mystery series that makes the setting part of the story along with the other typically quirky town folks.… (meer)

Final Chapter is the first book in Pam Stucky's Megan Montaigne mystery series. I have all four of the books, probably via the Fussy Librarian freebie email.

Megan Montaigne is the library director in little Emerson Falls, Washington, a small town along the Skagit River. The library is in a mansion and Megan lives on the top floor, a beautiful view of the river below her balcony. The book includes the typical cozy mystery cast of characters: the local police chief, Megan's best friend who owns the B&B, a curmudgeonly diner owner, and a friendly library employee who seems to do most of the work while Megan is sleuthing.

It was a fun, easy read and I did not guess the mystery. I've started the second one about travel writers descending on Emerson Falls.

Death at Glacier Lake was a quick, fun mystery. The “twist” wasn’t much of a twist, but I enjoyed the journey to get there. I don’t read very many “cozy” mysteries - this one kind of slipped through my filter - but it was well-written and a nice palate cleanser after a dark and twisty read.

A local author who lived with librarian Megan Montaigne is discovered murdered in her own swimming pool. Almost everyone believes she drowned but Megan wonders how and why. So she goes off sleuthing.

Good cozy mystery. Good cast of characters. The story drew me in and kept me reading to find out what happened. The writing is excellent. I want to read more of Megan and her small town.
