My inner child and I read this book via an Amazon KINDLE Unlimited download.

Moms, do you remember as you were growing up as a young girl who did you have as a Christian role model; naturally, it would have been your mothers. These days young girls need to have as a role model, more than ever, someone who has significantly impacted the world we live in today. These days, women excel in fields that only a few years ago had been considered unimaginable, such as astronomers and scientists.

In this outing of this book series of Gutsy Girls, author Amy L. Sullivan examines the life of Fanny Crosby, who became blind shortly after her birth; however, this affliction didn’t stop her from living out God’s plan for her life. Although she was blind, by Amazing Grace, she could see things sighted people couldn’t. While the hundreds and hundreds of hymns she wrote were coming from her heart, she had always been an unwavering supporter of the Lord.

In addition to being a devoted servant of the Lord, Ms. Crosby spent much of her life serving those around her who had far less by giving away much of her money. While she could have lived anywhere she wanted to, Ms. Crosby knew the Lord wanted her to be close to those who felt ignored by Him, where she would continually speak of the Lord’s love for them.

Ms. Crosby is the epitome of what happens when an individual uses their God-given skills and talents to honor the Lord and enter His service. My inner child, who is writing this review, loves what the book has taught her about becoming an adult and using her capabilities to help others as the Lord wants her to, which is why she and I have given the author and her book, Amy Sullivan, 5 STARS.

This book was read via an Amazon KU [KINDLE Unlimited] download.

Moms, do you remember as you were growing up as a young girl who did you have as a Christian role model; naturally, it would have been your mothers. These days young girls need to have as a role model, more than ever, someone who has made a significant impact on the world we live in today. These days women are excelling in fields that only a few years ago had been considered to be unimaginable, such as being an astronomer and scientist.

In this, the fourth book in her series of Gutsy Girls, author Amy L. Sullivan, examines the life of Dr. Jennifer Wiseman and what took her from being a young girl who had an inquisitiveness and passion for nature that had gotten instilled with love for the Lord.

This book shows that the secular world of science can and does meet the scriptural world of the Lord in a sort of harmony and understanding while serving as an inspiration for young girls to possess a desire to explore something new and exciting when they become a Christian woman. It is for this reason I’ve given Ms. Sullivan the 5 STARS she has received from this voracious reviewer of nonfiction Christian books and, of course, my inner-child.

If a teacher wishes to use the insert-story "NO Trespassing: This is MY Body!" he or she should make sure they get parents' signed permission to present this story. A teacher should NEVER ask "leading" questions regarding this issue. In other words, a teacher should NOT ask "yes or no" questions such as the following: "Has anyone every touched you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable?" or "Did someone ever touch your private parts?" Such "leading" questions are absolutely NOT acceptable for the teacher to ask since children are easily suggestible and such questions offer suggestions for a child's imagination.

A teacher should not "fish" for information regarding these matters. However, if a child offers information to a teacher about an incident regarding being touched inappropriately or being the subject of violence, the teacher should find out the following information from the child:

1) Who did it? (Try to get the suspected perpetrator's first and last name. Find out how often the perpetrator has access to the child. Does the perpetrator live with the child? Find out how many other children are in the home or the names of other children to whom the perpetrator has access, if possible.)

2) What exactly did this person do? Where did he or she touch or hit? Why did he or she touch or hit? What did they use to touch or hit?

2) When did it happen?

3) Where did it happen?

4) How many times has this happened?

5) Get the child's name, his or her parents' names, and address, and phone number, if possible.

The more information you have, the better, in making your report.

REMEMBER: Even teachers at church are MANDATED REPORTERS and must report any SUSPECTED child abuse even if the teacher is not sure whether or not something is true or how serious it is. If you are in doubt or have any concern about what a child has said regarding this matter, YOU ARE MANDATED BY NEVADA STATE LAW to report your suspicion or concern with any information you have regarding possible incidents of child abuse.

If it is during normal business hours, you need to call CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES at (775) 785-8600 and speak with someone. If it is not during normal business hours, you should call (775) 784-8090 or toll free 1-800-992-5757. YOU, THE PERSON TO WHOM THE CHILD REPORTED THE INFORMATION, ARE REQUIRED to make this report to Child Protective Services or to Law Enforcement WITHIN 24 HOURS of having received the report. If you are unable to speak to someone at Child Protective Services for some reason, you may make your report of suspected child abuse to the Reno Police Department, if the possible crime seems to have occurred in Reno, at (775) 334-2677, to the Sparks Police Department, if the possible crime seems to have occurred in Sparks, at (775) 353-2231, or to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, if the possible crime seems to have occurred in Washoe County, excluding Reno and Sparks, at (775) 328-3001.

KEEP IN MIND: If you are teacher, you are a mandated reporter. Also, YOUR IDENTITY, as the reporter, WILL BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL by Child Protective Services or Law Enforcement. KEEP IN MIND that it is wise, on your part, to keep information confidential. Make the report in confidence. Do not make your report common knowledge. Protect the child by making your report, but also protect yourself by being wise.

Once a report has been made, CPS will send a social worker to investigate if they deem the child or any other children to be in danger. Your identity as the reporter will not be disclosed to the family by CPS.

IF YOU BELIEVE A CHILD IS IN IMMINENT DANGER, you should call Law Enforcement immediately so that law enforcement may intervene to protect the child.
