This book on the history of the anti-abortion movement is quite superficial, but there is useful information to be found. It could be a good beginning to the topic for someone just dipping in their toes to test the water. It does have some serious flaws, the main one being that it is a series of papers published elsewhere, and most of the information is repeated over and over....and over and over...without any variation in wording. A good edit could have handled that. This is mitigated in part by the fact that every essay does contain something new, and there is a touch of information in here that I did not know, as well as some interesting quotes. It is, of course, out of date, being more than 20 years old in a field that has continued to evolve and spread more tentacles in that time, but again, it should be regarded as only a preliminary. It is a quick read, and broken into small enough sections that you won't lose sleep trying to get to a reasonable stopping place for the night.… (meer)
