The book discusses the interactions of youth online by following the stories of a sample of youth from various countries (including Australia). It was interesting what she has to say about the seamlessness of youth online and offline worlds and how they are using their online worlds to engage in communities of practice, be social and active citizens of the world and to develop their won identities. Also how the literacy demands and challenges of being involved in online networks are so complex that children are learning simply by engaging and how the "nature of literacy online being a combination of orality, writing and net-speak has implications for linguists and educators".… (meer)
