When the supply librarian takes over for the regular librarian's summer holidays, the first thing she does is surprise Junie by giving her the name "Juniper Tree". That's only the first of many odd occurrences. Junie has always found that the upstairs of the library is a confusing place where she keeps finding "new" corridors of books, but she's quite sure that the narrow picture gallery hallway with the ornately carved door at the far end was never there before (and in fact, next time she looks for it, it isn't). Then her cat begins to talk (and he is, if possible, even ruder than Catherine-the-Cat in the Edward Eager books). I love books that feature a magical book, and I love books where magic happens in a library, so I found this book very satisfying.… (meer)
