"Finally, just eighteen years after Elizabeth died in 1902, women would finally have the right to vote.
But fifty years after Elizabeth Cady Stanton's death, there were still states where married women could not own property in their own names. Seventy-five years later, there were still states where a man could have his wife commited to a mental institution on his word alone.
Today, the amendment to the Constitution guaranteeing equal rights for women has still not passed."

Summary:
This book is about a Native American princess named Pocahontas. She was very brave and befriended the colonists that came to America from England. She married an Englishman and after having a baby, moved to England with her husband. She perished in England, but the story of her bravery lives on.

Personal Reaction:
I have always loved reading the stories about Pocahontas. She was sort of like a hero to me growing up. I loved reading about her bravery and standing up for what she believed in no matter what anyone thought.

Classroom Extension:
1. I could use this story to show students that it is important to be kind to everyone no matter how different they are.
2. I could also use this story to teach students a little history lesson of the first people to come to America.
