This is a straightforward commentary on the classic Seven Point Mind Training. This is a small book - 4.5 inch by 6.5 inch, 160 pages - easy to carry around. I read a paragraph or two while waiting for my sweetheart to pick out a video at the rental store.

The teaching here is really the core of the Buddhadharma. Ringu Tulku's commentary is straightforward but always points to the essence and often adds essential flesh when the bones of the slogans are just to bare. For example, on p. 150, the slogan is "Do not misapprehend." Ringu Tulku provides six particular misapprehensions to avoid. These are not academic or esoteric in the least - they really go to the heart of practice.

This is a book that anyone, from beginner to lifetime practitioner, will find useful.
