Ever since the first book I have been wanting to know more about Eunice and I finally got to read all about her and it was so much fun! If you have read the series so far you will know that the character of Eunice was unique and a bit mysterious. I mean the gal wore all black and a gigantic veil to cover herself. She was constantly in mourning clothes but at the same time she started the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency to help others. So she has an adventurous streak to her and boy do we see everything revealed about her when Arthur Livingston shows up!

Goodness I loved their banter and tension they had. It made this story so entertaining and just kept you reading to see what was going to happen. But it's not all comedy, there is also a mystery surrounding this story and some twists I did not expect. I'm not going to reveal much of the story because it was so good and you should really read it for yourself. I will say that Jen really did a fantastic job with the characters. They were engaging and relatable. Although at first I did not know what to think of Arthur I absolutely loved him. He was the perfect leading gentleman.

I will say that the ending felt a bit rushed but I think its just me and my greedy reading self. I wanted to know more about the other characters and feel like some could have their own stories. Despite my greediness the ending was good and it closed up the series well. I can't wait to see what her next book will be all about. I highly recommend you grab this one and although technically you could read this as a stand alone but I recommend you grab the first book so you get to know these characters better and get well acquainted with them.

I received this book from the publisher Bethany House. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

It’s sad to see the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency series come to an end. This has been an interesting departure from the traditional Jen Turano books with the mystery thrown in right up front, but it has been well done and enjoyable. I feel like there are many stories still to be told. That said, this series wrap-up is quite thorough and, in that respect, satisfying for readers who have been wondering about their favorite characters all along. If you haven’t read the series, you really need to know the other characters before beginning with this book. While it is enjoyable on its own, you will get a lot more out of it if you know the full cast of what is, essentially, a reunion show for the series wrapped into an elaborate murder mystery.

For those of us who have read the rest of the series, the mystery of Eunice Holbrooke has been much on our minds as she is obviously not who she seems. This book quickly unravels that mystery for us as a man from her past shows up to bring everything tumbling down around her. As the layers of her widow’s weeds are pulled back, a much different person is revealed than the Eunice we have known to date and the excitement begins.

Arthur Livingston, the man from her past, isn’t the dashing hero we would all like him to be, at least not from the start. It is easy to understand why Eunice wouldn’t rush into his arms and, in fact, once rushed away from him. But, in time, he redeems himself as all good heroes do.

Along the way, we get a lesson about the conditions of psychiatric asylums when Eunice hides from Arthur by going undercover on a case, learn about the silver industry, travel west to Montana, visit an artist colony, and see multiple beloved characters fall in love. It’s an enjoyable novel that you can spend time with as you revisit old friends and make new ones. The surprise twist at the end will keep you on your toes and the final wrap-up from this beloved series will make you feel warm inside.

This is definitely a book you will find hard to put down before you finish it. This will make you laugh throughout the story. I am so glad that we got to learn all about Eunice. I have loved all the books in the Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency. Each of these characters were wonderful and you will want to read all of the books in the series. Each of the women that run this agency have become stronger and help their men to be stronger. This is a fun mystery that will have you chuckling all the way through. I am looking forward to whatever this author comes up with next. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.… (meer)

I was hooked from the first line, “Considering she’d once shot the man sitting across from her, Eunice Holbrooke was beginning to get the sneaking suspicion her past had finally caught up to her.”

This novel is everything I look forward to in a Jen Turano historical mystery, from the witty dialogue, crazy situations, strong women in this novel get themselves into and barely get out of danger. This story is a delight to read as the author takes readers away from the cares of this world to a place filled with humor, heart and a front row seat to watch Eunice and Arthur try to outwit each other. It’s a funny and a delight.
Eunice finds herself in a vulnerable place which she prides herself in being strong and capable of not getting into in the first place. Has she gone too far? Will Arthur Livingstone, find what Eunice has been desperately trying to hide. Would they get to the bottom of these hidden secrets? Who killed Eunice’s grandfather, and who is trying to kill her?

I also enjoyed the natural spiritual thread woven into the story about trusting God and how the truth will set you free. This is a fun get away and one that would work well for your next book club pick.
