3729. Origins of the First World War, by L. C. F. Turner (read 10 Apr 2003) I read back in March 1968 Sidney Fay's two volumes on this absorbing topic, and in May of 1986 Albertini's three volumes thereon, and Fritz Fischer's famed book, Germany's Aims in the First World War, as well as much else. This is a little 118 page work by an Australian, which ironically disputes much of what the German Fischer says about German guilt. This book, published in 1970, was a neat reminder for me of other accounts of these world-shattering events which have long been a great interest for me.… (meer)
