I was going to give it 3 stars because a few of the stories were interesting to me, but then I realized that was only because they were Jewish, so I changed my mind. It was just like, a jumble of things happening and the writing was very much like "this happened. this happened. then this happened." and it wasn't necessarily hard to get through but I did find myself looking to see how much was left in the book pretty frequently.

Due to small children in my house, I haven't actually finished a book in quite a while. This collection of stories is a fantastic remedy. These are not light and fluffy - they make me feel like I'm reading the more involved novels I'm used to, and they are thought provoking and enticing and risque in the best ways. I very much enjoyed this book.

I enjoyed most of the stories, quick read, great characters and relationships portrayed of teens and young women, a lot of student and immigrant themes. Collection of longer short stories set in various countries. Not all were for me, but all were interesting. I received an Early Reviewers copy of this book for free in exchange for a review.
