The Tactical War Game: A Tr. of 'beitrag Zum… door Julius Adrian F. W. Von Verdy Du Vernois
1875 English translation of the German original. Very interesting "play through" of the Kriegsspiel showing how the game flowed and how the Umpire ran things. The only issue was that the large map in the original doesn't come out in this reprint at all which makes it harder to follow. The online German version doesn't have it either which is sad. Anyone who wants to but the Umpire in a Kriegsspiel type game will do well to study this book.
