A fast pace cozy murder mystery, with a who-done-it plot set in a Casino. Tessie is likable and a fun person. The suspects are interesting, there is plenty of twists, turns, surprises and a splash of romance. Overall I found Hey Big Spender (Tahoe Tessie Mysteries Book 2) and enjoyable read, and feel those who love a murder/mystery will enjoy it as well.… (meer)

The odd parents save Bree from her disastrous attempt at a Hollywood career and get to leave the B&B in her care while they have a special getaway, and she works hard to prove that they didn't murder the man who fell on her when the carpenter opened the back wall of the closet. Add in the disgraced BFF, the attentions of the carpenter, crazy neighbors on each side, her brother the law intern, and some disastrous encounters with local law enforcement, and you have very fertile ground for hilarious verbal and situational humor.

I find myself leaning towards romantic comedy more and more, and loved the premise of this book. The main character, Jemma, is snarky and smart and doesn't take any guff off of anyone. The hero is the type of guy we'd all like to fall for - handsome, muscle-bound, and rich. And, of course, head over heels for Jemma. The premise is that Jemma is trying hard to put her ex-boyfriend behind her and build a business as a wedding photographer. When his new fiance asks her to photograph their wedding, at a can't pass up price, Jemma decides to do it. What better way to put him firmly behind her and show that she's over him?

I was surprised how quickly we arrived at the wedding. The wedding isn't the big finale I was expecting. There is a lot of action that takes place after the wedding - actual action. It's still what I would consider a romantic comedy, but the last half of the book adds a nice dash of action and suspense, while still maintaining the fun feel of the book, thanks to Jemma. My favorite scene is her in her ex-boyfriend's wine cellar - I would've done the same thing!

If you're looking for a fun read, with a bit of action and plenty of romance, pick this book up. It'll keep you turning the page!… (meer)
