Summary: Bobby Brown is the main character in this story. He refuses to tell his parents and other people what his name is. He rather play pretend and be Peter Pan, Davy Crockett, the Big Bad Wolf and other fantasy folk characters. Then he gets lost, hungry and ends up in the Police department and finally admits his name is Bobby Brown.

Personal Reaction: This is a very cute short stories that has great illustrations to go along with it. the pictures drew me into the book and definitely followed it well. This book would be for a beginning to read student, and has great vocabulary and diverse words to introduce to new readers. I love that the author put all the words at the end of the book, listing what kind of words need to be taught before reading this book.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1) This would be a great book to have students get into groups, 2 or 3 students and have them act out a page or two that will be assigned to that group. Students will practice for a few mins and then act out the scene in front of the class. Maybe even make a guessing game out of it and have other students try and find which page the group is acting out.
2) After reading the book, ask students to think about who they like to pretend to be at home, and who they might want to be for a day. Then hand out paper and have students draw themselves as whoever they enjoy to pretend to be. Also ask students to write what they would say if they were that person. Hang them up on the wall. The teacher could even make a guessing game as to who that student is pretending to be.

This cute book written years ago is about a boy who was lost and would not say his name. This book is about talking to strangers and how when he was lost he wouldn't say his name. Good story to teach youngsters about stranger danger and when its ok to talk to them.

This book is a story about a young boy who loved to read he would read books constantly. But as a side effect he would become the characters in the book and would never answer to his own name. At the end of the story he got into a scary situation and had to give out his name for safety reasons.

I thought that this book was a real inside into a childs mind and how somethimes they dont understand why its wrong to do what they were doing. I thought i could connect to the moral of this book, but not the exact situation

As a classroom extension I am going to ahve my class design a safety chart about what to do on different situations like Bobby experienced. Then i am goin to have them write in their journal about what they would do if they were Bobby.
