Korte biografie: Max Wade-Matthews attended the RAF School of Music at Uxbridge and served in brass bands in England, Germany and Hong Kong. During his years in the RAF, Max formed Die Lustigen Jager, a "German oompah band", for which he arranged all the music. Max formed a living-history brass band, based on the bands of the American Civil War. He has written several books about the history of Leicester, including Musical Leicester, a history of musical life in that city. He has also written numerous books on railways in different parts of the world.

Music, an Illustrated History door Max Wade-Matthews

Previously known as 'World Encyclopedia of Musical Instruments', this is a good instruction book to junior students of music. It explains and has clear illustrations of musical instruments from around the world. Historical content is good but brief.

The Encyclypedia of Music: Instruments of the… door Max Wade-Matthews

I have enjoyed this book for its illustrations and completeness. It covers an enormous variety of composers and musical instruments including the human voice. It only lacks the most modern developments in pop music but that is not the stated scope of the book.
