There are a lot of sad and tragic stories in this book. While I was familiar with Judy Tyler's and Susan Peters' stories, I was not familiar with some of the others like Rose Stradner who starred with Edward G. Robinson in the Last Gangster. One of the saddest was Dorothy Dell's story. I was most surprised by Mayo Methot who I always thought was just a drunk but had no idea she had a successful career on Broadway until marrying Bogey. Wagner is a good writer and you can count that her research is accurate. My only complaint was I found the type style used in the book difficult to read, especially when it got smaller when a quote was used.… (meer)
