Princess Lunetta is an unfortunate girl whose mother promised her to a witch's dragon as a snack. Fortunately for the Queen, the King, and Princess Lunetta herself, the Brave Frog Robert gives Lunetta the courage and the resources to save herself. This not-so-fairytale is excellent for young readers looking for a fairy-tale like story with a brand new twist. The writing is excellent for young readers and young and old read-aloud-ers and the illustrations are detailed and are full of hidden amusements. Princess Stinky-Toes and the Brave Frog Robert shares a unique story in a familiar damsel in distress setting with new characters, heroes, and a 'clean' ending.… (meer)

Before she was even born, Princess Lunetta was promised to a witch as a tasty snack for her dragon. As the princess nears her tenth birthday, she decides that she doesn't want to be eaten. But how can she keep the dragon from making her a snack? With the help of the brave frog Robert, and by braving the taunts of others, she finds a way to save her life, her kingdom, a frog-prince and a surprisingly fluffy bunny.

This fairy-tale is unconventional, witty and fun - much like Princess Stinky-toes. The illustrations are large and bright, and the story is full of laughs.… (meer)

This is a story about four sheep that retire from the farm and move to the big city. The sheep, however, discover the difficulty of finding a place to belong. They try many different things before they find the right place for them.

I rely enjoyed this book because I once owned sheep and always like to see things that can relate to them. I can relate to the sheep’s struggle for acceptance, and I know children also face very similar feelings in the classroom. The characters are strong but rely on one another, which carries the plot very well.

In the classroom, I might present this book near the beginning of the year when the students are having to adjust to new surroundings and feelings. It would be a great model of how everyone has a place. Another idea would be to use it as a transition into a lesson about farm animals. I would have the kids make their own story about farm animals.
