I feel the inclusion of God and biblical messages dampens some of the utterly charming stories this book has to offer, some of which I've not found in any other book form or story form besides this one, which makes buying it with the religious aspect all over a bit disheartening.
It's hard to hand these out to animals lovers of all religions and lack thereof when the message is forced, but I do find the appeal just slightly outweighs explaining to friends and people who aren't religious that I'm not trying to spread much more than a cute story around.… (meer)

I'm in need of rereading this one, much like the others of this series, I remember it being charming and great for animal lovers, but not so great for anyone who doesn't follow the bible or want a story that always has the lord dropped in or crammed into the tale awkwardly.
This book came to me via two friends: one of whom read it, then gave it to the other, who read it and passed it on to me. I enjoyed the stories, but I find that most of them slip out of my memory soon after reading them. Right now, the only one I can truly remember is the last one (the one I read most recently) and I didn't guess the significance of that one until near the end of it.
