A well-deserved tribute to one of the class players in all of sports. The author did border on the monotonous at times as he kept repeating how teammates, fans, and even rivals had immense respect for Robinson. He clearly was worthy of the adulation but the reader didn't need to be reminded of it on virtually every other page.

An okay book about a marvelous subject whose personality and story shines through its pages. Baseball could sure use another Bird- kinda the anti-A-roid. Recommended for the sheer joy of Fydrich.
