Having hooked me last volume, this one is just too gentle and too mild as it treads water and wanders off topic. The search for a Christmas present for her masterful cat sends Saku down a Sea Slug Squad: Umyu-Sea rabbit hole, and we spend way too much time learning about the musical idol girl group and their new cookbook. ~yawn~
With the first page complaining about Mondays, this retread of previous jokes really feels like a week of Garfield comic strip limbo more than the book I was growing to like.

The gentle and mild cat and workplace humor continues with a business trip that separates cat from owner for a night providing a little shake-up and spark. And despite Saku's obliviousness, there are at least two people who are starting to have feelings for her besides the cat. I'm addicted now and will be seeking this series out for the foreseeable future.
This is still super-mild cat-lover bait, but gosh darn it if the super-competent cat and ensemble cast aren't growing on me quickly. Can we get a grocery clerk and manager spin off?
I think the main appeal for me is that the furry housekeeper and the exhausted office lady slob put me in mind of my relationship with my wife.

A giant cat that takes care of his owner? Sure, this is fun and cute, especially if the owner is clueless and slightly pathetic. I was bored halfway through, unfortunately. The same things happened over and over and over and over again: Yuichi the giant cat cooks something delicious – Saku the owner enjoys it and has a beer; people react to Yuichi; Saku is in an embarrassing situation; Yuichi does something unexpected.
The art was uninspired and left me cold. It’s a pity. I do love cats, but I have yet to find a cat manga that I love ;) (Oh, and I wouldn’t mind having a huge cat cooking for us.)
