Solid Christmas fare for pirate lovers.

This was hard. It tried to keep the Night before christmas cadence, but the rhymes were harsh in multiple places and caused things to fall apart. The story is also lack luster. The illustrations are nice, but not a bit that makes me think of christmas.

Shiver me timbers! A Pirates Night Before Christmas follows the traditional 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, but told from a pirates point of view from their ship. Beautiful illustrations. We especially enjoyed the pirate glossary at the end. Certainly a keeper for the Christmas collection!

After the first reading of this with both of my kids, the 4-year-old wanted to reread it every night for the past 3 nights at bedtime.

And by last night's rereading, he was singing it along with me...and giggling madly.
