The story was fun but not very exciting. I guess since it is a folktale you can't really alter the story but not one i would recommend. I did however like the illustration of all the different animals. Was kind of cute that the Leopard went around to many animals that would usually be food, and asked them for help. I think because of that simple fact it might be a good read aloud with kids.

This is a beautifully illustrated book. It is an African folktale about a vain leopard that thinks his spots are so beautiful he wants to count them. But he can't count. All of the animals in the story try to count, but it isn't until the wise jackal comes along that the leopard knows how many spots he has.
