Have you ever fantasized about sitting in a first class airplane seat next to a gorgeous wealthy great conversationalist on a cross country red eye flight? Well, this story starts out with just that scene as Sabrina Calihan, Chief Cosmetics Officer of Swirl Cosmetics, heads to New York for a makeup convention. Little does she know that the man sitting next to her is a competitor in the same industry. Max March heads his deceased mother’s cosmetic company, Christina Max, and is a man who has great success in business and with women. He is challenged by Sabrina’s vow of abstinence as she is taking a sabbatical from men after setting herself a personal challenge. Max is a huge temptation to Sabrina as he presses her to date and then do more than date. There are some predictable elements to this love story but then books in this genre are often formulaic. There is the original interest, the courting, the break-up and the happy ending leading the reader to want to read the next book in the series. Sabrina and Max are attractive, strong, successful, charming characters that I enjoyed reading about. I look forward to hearing more about while reading of Sabrina’s friends and who they end up with as the series progresses.… (meer)

This book started out with intensity and was a great read. For some reason this book made me think of the X-Men movies or perhaps more fleshed out comic books with a Paranormal-Romance included. The introduction of people with genetic mutations that allow them supernatural abilities, a wicked scientist doing experiments on these individuals in laboratories and the coming together of some of these supernatural beings to form a group to work together to help mankind and other paranormals is intriguing – as is their choice of what uniform to wear. Definitely a fun read that has potential for a great series.… (meer)
